JOONLAN has announced strategic partnerships with three leading automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to integrate its high-precision LiDAR optical components into next-generation autonomous vehicle platforms. The collaboration focuses on supplying custom vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) arrays, photodetectors, and miniaturized optical lenses for solid-state LiDAR systems, enabling advanced 3D sensing and object detection capabilities.
Under the terms of the agreements, JOONLAN will supply 1550nm VCSEL arrays with high beam uniformity and low divergence, as well as InGaAs avalanche photodiodes (APDs) for enhanced sensitivity. These components are critical for achieving long-range detection (up to 300 meters) and high point-cloud density, key requirements for safe autonomous navigation.
The partnership also includes joint development of compact LiDAR modules optimized for integration behind vehicle windshields, reducing aerodynamic drag and improving design flexibility. JOONLAN’s manufacturing facility in Suzhou will produce the components to automotive quality standards, with strict testing for temperature resilience, vibration resistance, and long-term reliability.
