JOONLAN has unveiled its new line of silicon photonics-based 400G optical engines, developed in collaboration with leading semiconductor foundries. The integrated engines combine photonic integrated circuits (PICs) with electronic components on a single chip, delivering high-speed, energy-efficient connectivity for data center switches and servers.

The new engines feature a through-glass-via (TGV) packaging design, which minimizes signal loss and improves thermal management. They support up to 400Gbps per lane, with options for parallel (DR4) and single-mode (LR4) transmission, making them suitable for both intra- and inter-rack data center connections. The engines are fully compatible with mainstream network equipment from vendors including Cisco, H3C, and Huawei.
